"A New Beginning in Love"

Purpose

“A New Beginning In Love”
Inspired by Pamela Duke – February 1986

Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who has been born of God and knows God, Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as atoning sacrifice for our sins.Dear Friends, since God loved us, we ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, but if we love on another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.1 John 4:7-12

Our purpose is to equip the saints to do better work for Him, building the Church, the body of Christ, to a position of strength and maturity; until finally we all believe alike about our salvation and about our Savior, God’s Son, and all become full-grown in the Lord—yes, to the point of being filled full with Christ

Vision

Under the spiritual leadership of Senior Pastor Walter L. Hamilton, III, and in an effort to continue to fulfill the original vision given by God to Enoch N. Butler, Pastor Emeritus, Founding Pastor, Christ Fellowship Church, in 1985, the vision holds strong in the church with a renewed perspective for accomplishment in the 21st Century.

Christ Fellowship is to be an open fellowship that creates a strong bond of divine love between believers in Christ Jesus. Its doors are to be open to all ethnic groups with no racial barriers existing between members;

The Fellowship is to be a Spiritual fellowship using the Bible as the basis upon which all teachings will be based. Free expression of all gifts of the Spirit will be given in as God so leads. Therefore, emphasis will be placed upon strong teaching and preaching regarding the Gifts of the Holy Spirit;

The Fellowship will strongly emphasize Christian Education to prepare the Saints of God for warfare against the “powers of darkness.” We will also prepare people to share their faith through Christian Outreach within their areas of influence. In order to implement this plan, strong teacher training will be provided to ensure success in the ministry. In addition, a strong equipment and aids department will be developed to provide adequate equipment & supplies the various ministries within the fellowship;

Instead of “re-inventing the wheel”, we will utilize existing ministries, that have proven themselves to be successful in ministry and Christian living to augment, teach and help develop our members into highly capable, highly motivated workers for the Lord.

Eventually we will establish a Christian Academy which will teach spiritual and life survival skills to prepare saints to compete in the world of work. In conjunction with the Academy, family financial planning and development workshops will be conducted to combat the sever attack of Satan upon families. All programs and ministries will be evaluated to ascertain modification for improvement.

The Fellowship will prepare Saints according to Ephesians 4:1-16. After being prepared, each member will reach out and bring souls in to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ through well planned individual and group outreach activities. This includes development of missions to meet the needs of all whom God sends our way.

To strengthen the outreach programs, the “Media” will be extensively utilized. This will lead to the establishment of Radio, Television, and Satellite ministries.

Finally, cell groups will be established to serve as geographic centers of weekly teaching to bring together those saints who live within close proximity to each other. These groups will be equipped to handle the missionary work of the Fellowship and will create an “adopt-a-saint” program. This program will be designed to meet the total needs of those within the Fellowship who may be facing financial, medical, emotional and spiritual difficulties.

Eventually missionaries will evolve out of the cell groups who will be prepared to go out into the missions. Ministries for all ages will be incorporated into Fellowship activities.

Naturally to accomplish this vision, Christ Fellowship will need a permanent home through which this vision will come true.
